Specialising in historically informed performance across the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic repertoire, Spanish violinist Marta Ramírez enjoys a busy and varied career throughout Europe. She appears regularly with leading ensembles and orchestras including Gli Incogniti, Le Consort, La Cetra Barockorchester, La Ritirata, Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, Accademia Barocca Lucernensis, Les Musiciens du Louvre, among many others. Her concert activity takes her to the most prestigious concert series and festivals across Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium or Luxembourg.

Alongside her performing work, she co-directs two award-winning ensembles: VIVALMA, prizewinner at the Biagio Marini Wettbewerb and Gijón Early Music Competition, and El Parnasillo, finalist at the York Early Music Competition and collaborator at La Nouvelle Athènes, Paris.

Driven by a curiosity that transcends conventional boundaries, Marta thrives in interdisciplinary projects that bridge genres and periods. Recent collaborations include Rosers d’Andalusia with Juan Gómez “Chicuelo,” merging Baroque music with flamenco; the chamber opera La Esmeralda at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord; and Concierto para un cuerpo, an innovative production for solo violin and contemporary dance created with dancer Almudena Pérez.

Marta holds two Master’s degrees from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she studied under Amandine Beyer, following bachelor degrees from the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague, under Walter Reiter, and Trinity Laban in London, under Clare Thompson, where she was awarded the TCM Trust Silver Medal.

Beyond the stage, Marta is the founder and Artistic Director of Pompaelo Antiqua, an early music concert series in her hometown Pamplona. She also channels her artistry into a profound vocation for teaching and mentorship. As an educator, she is dedicated to the transmission of historically informed practice, guiding new generations of musicians with the same rigour and curiosity that define her own career. Deeply committed to the holistic wellbeing of musicians, she has also created “desde el silencio,” a therapeutic space where she integrates her expertise as a transpersonal therapist to support artists in their creative and personal development.
